Quantum Multipliers Explained

The multipliers available at each of the bet spots are different. Each bet spot has a range that the game’s RNG engine selects from.

Multipliers can be applied to between one and five bet positions in each game. They appear more often on the Side bet positions, which are traditionally the harder bets to win, so I guess it makes sense.

The good news is that all bet positions are quality for multipliers, so you don’t have to chase them or change your playing style to get the benefit.

  • Banker Bet multipliers – 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x, 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x & 88x.
  • Player bet multipliers – 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x, 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x & 88x.
  • Tie bet multipliers – 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 333x, 555x & 888x.

Side Bet Multipliers

  • Big bet multipliers – 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x, 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x & 88x.
  • Small bet multipliers – 4x, 5x, 7x, 9x, 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x & 88x.
  • Either Pair multipliers – 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 555x & 888x.
  • Player Pair multipliers – 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 333x, 555x & 888x.
  • Banker Pair multipliers – 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 333x, 555x & 888x.
  • Perfect Pairs multipliers – 44x, 55x, 66x, 77x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 333x, 555x & 888x.

How to Play Quantum Baccarat

Quantum Baccarat has two playing options: Commission and No Commission Baccarat Rules. The multipliers and standard rules apply to both; the only difference is the house edge calculation.

In No-Commission Baccarat, when the Banker wins with a Six, the payout is 0.5:1. In Commission Baccarat, 0.05% commission is taken from each Banker’s win, so the payout is expressed as 0.95:1.

The objective of Baccarat is to bet on the Banker or Player hand, predicting which one will win with a hand value higher than the other.  You can also bet on whether the hands will tie and a range of optional side bets.

I’ve already covered how to play Baccarat in detail in another article, which I suggest you look at. I’ll summarise the main points here.

  • The Banker and Player each receive two cards. The cards are totalled together, giving the hand a value made up of the last digit. For example, if the cards are a seven and a six, the total is thirteen, giving a hand value of three. The ideal hand value is an eight or nine; when this occurs, it’s referred to as a natural, and the hand wins unless it ties with the other hand.
  • Depending on the value of the initial cards, the Third Card rule comes into play, which gives another card to the hand depending on its value and the opposing hand’s value.
  • If the hands Tie, players have their initial bet returned.

Playing Quantum Baccarat

  1. Place your bet on Player, Banker and/or Tie, plus any optional side bets.
  2. Betting Time Closes.
  3. The Quantum multipliers are generated and applied on one to five bet spots.
  4. The Dealer plays out the game.
  5. Players with winning bets receive their payouts.

Placing Your Bets

Payouts & RTP

The RTP for Quantum baccarat is 98.76% for the Player Bet and 98.94% for the Banker. However, in No Commission, the Banker has a slightly lower RTP of 98.66%.

The payouts range from 0.95:1 to 888:1. For the main playing positions, Player/Banker, the multipliers can be as high as 88:1, while the side-bets deliver the 888:1 payouts.

The bigger payouts are on the riskier bets of the game, a clever trick by Paytech, as they want you to play them so they make more money. The lure, of course, is the one time when the bet comes off, and you get a multiplier payout.

Strategy for Quantum Baccarat

It’s good news for the strategy that the Quantum Multipliers are available on every bet type. This means you don’t have to alter the usual way you play; you can stick to your favourite playing strategies.

So what strategies are suitable for Quantum Baccarat?

I advocate following trends, and that doesn’t necessarily mean jumping on an existing trend; it can mean starting your own.

My strategy is straightforward.

  • I place a unit bet on the Player or Banker.
  • If the bet wins, I place the next bet on the same position.
  • If the bet loses, I double my bet and switch to the other betting position.
  • If this bet wins, I will reduce the bet to the original one unit and place the bet again in the same position.
  • If the bet loses, I double the bet and switch to the other betting position—note that this is now four times the original amount.

This strategy works well if you get two or three successful bets on the same playing position. It doesn’t work well if you get a sequence of losses, which is possible. If you get more than three losses in sequence, I’d stop betting and reassess the strategy. Maybe you need to switch to alternating bets on each position for a while.

Other Strategies worth trying

  1. The Banker bet—It’s simple: Just bet on the Banker every time. Statistically, the Banker has the lowest house edge, 1.06%, while the Player has 1.24%. Over the long term, the Banker always wins.
  2. Low-Risk Progression Strategy 1-3-2-4—If you win, you increase your bet; if you lose, you start over. Play Hand 1 and bet 1. If you win, play Hand 2 and bet 3. If you win, play Hand 3 and bet 2. If you win, play Hand 4 and bet 4. If you complete four wins, you win 10. This strategy limits losses and protects wins.

Note: These are playing and betting strategies, not winning strategies. No one can guarantee you’ll win, so always bet within your means and bankroll. If you’re losing, make sure to take a break and come back another time.

Multiplier Baccarats – How Does Quantum Baccarat Compare?

There are, at my last count, six baccarat games with multipliers.

Evolution leads the way with Golden Wealth, Lightning, Xxxtreme Lightning and Prosperity Tree Baccarats. Iconic21 has Grand Bonus Baccarat, and Pragmatic Play has Mega Baccarat.

None of them are the same.

The closest to Quantum Baccarat is Lightning Baccarat, as both give multipliers to all bet positions. Quantum has a better range of side bets, so this may be why you’d choose it over the other games. Fees range from 5% to 50%, so the 20% Quantum charges sit in the middle.

The payouts range up to 1000x for the Player/Banker Bets on other games, with the Tie bet offering much more on the Lightning games and Golden Wealth. Quantum offers a max payout of 888x and only 88x on the Player/Banker bet positions.

Quantum Baccarat is a middle-of-the-road multiplier game. It doesn’t have the really big payouts, but it does offer multipliers on all the bet spots and has a good range of side bets. You’re not missing out by playing this version.

Summary

As I understand, this is the last hurrah for the Quantum brand of multiplier games; I don’t think we’ll see another game with this brand, although there will be more multiplier games.

Quantum Baccarat delivers to the brand, with the studio and use of multipliers consistent across all Quantum games.

The multiplier values are OK and offer a good return for the 20% fee. It’s great that the multipliers cover all bet spots and understandably use different ranges depending on the bet spot.

The most frequent bets of Player/Banker have a max payout of 88x. Unsurprisingly, the multipliers don’t seem to hit those bet spots as frequently as you’d like, but instead, they cover the side bets most of the time.

If you’re a Playtech fan, there is no reason to play another multiplier baccarat game; this one is good.
