ONE Blackjack is an unlimited player version of Live Blackjack from Pragmatic Play.
The game allows an unlimited number of players to play the same blackjack hand, keeping the outcome of the results specific for each player, depending on how they choose to play the hand.
It is a highly scalable game, meaning hundreds, if not thousands of players can play at the same time, all playing as if they are the only ones at the table.
Pragmatic One Blackjack is played to Vegas rules and has four optional side bets, one of which, Crazy 7, we’ve not seen before in live dealer blackjack.
What makes this stand apart from Pragmatic Play’s other live blackjack games, is you’ll always be guaranteed to get a seat.
The other great feature is the presentation of the table, resplendent in its purple and gold colour scheme. This really gives you the feeling of the game being special and opulent.
This version of Blackjack has been designed to be inclusive of all player types, so should appeal to low stakes and high stakes players alike.
Unusually for Blackjack, stakes start at £1 a hand, right up to £5000.
It’s also a great game to begin your Blackjack education if you’ve never played before. Because it has low stakes you don’t have to risk much as you learn to play. Also, as it’s only one hand and only your decisions are shown to you, you won’t slow anyone up or affect how other players play.
It’s a safe environment to learn Blackjack and get used to hitting, Splitting, and Doubling your hand.
ONE Blackjack is played like any other game of Blackjack, but when you first get to the table you’ll notice some differences.
Firstly, only one player hand is played on the table.
After the player cards are dealt they are not left in view, they are placed in a semi-transparent container in the middle of the table. The cards are then displayed on the table as computer-generated images.
As you make your playing decision any card dealt for you will be placed in the container and the image displayed on the table.
Once you’ve completed your hand by Standing or Busting, you may see more cards being dealt, these will be for other players. The value of your hand will remain as you played it.
On completion of the player’s hand, the dealer completes their hand. Those player hands that beat the dealer will be paid, those that lose against the dealer will lose their bets, and those that have the same as the dealer will have their stake returned.
The Six Card Charlie rule applies at the end of the game round. If the player hand ends up with six cards and a hand value of 21 or under, the hand will win, even if the dealer is showing a Blackjack!
ONE Blackjack follows the Vegas rule set of Blackjack so you can use standard Basic Strategy when playing:
There are four optional side bets that can be played alongside the main hand:
Side bets are a way of having a bit of extra fun and also winning a large amount for a small stake.
They are not a way of making easy money, so think carefully about playing them.
The 21+3 side bet is probably the most recognisable side bet in Blackjack.
It is played using the player’s first two cards and the dealer’s up card. If these three cards form a Poker ranked hand then you’ll receive a payout.
The theoretical RTP for this side bet is 96.30%
Hand | Usual Payout | Probability |
---|---|---|
Suited three-of-a-kind | 100:1 | 0.02% |
Straight Flush | 40:1 | 0.02% |
Three -of-a-kind | 30:1 | 0.52% |
Straight | 10:1 | 3.10% |
Flush | 5:1 | 5.88% |
The Perfect Pairs side bet pays when the player’s hand has been dealt a pair. There are different payouts depending on the type of pair you have.
If you have the same colour pair, the payout is 12:1, while a mixed coloured pair pays 6:1. The jewel in the crown is a pair in the same suit, which pays a glorious 25:1
The RTP for this bet is 95.90%.
Hand | Usual Payout | Probability |
---|---|---|
Perfect Pair | 25:1 | 1.69% |
Coloured Pair | 12:1 | 2.89% |
Mixed Pair | 6:1 | 5.78% |
The Bust Bonus Side Bet will pay when the dealer busts their hand. The more cards the dealer has in their hand when they bust, the greater the payout will be.
The RTP for this side bet is 93.82.
This side bet is almost like an insurance bet.
Dealers Hand Busts with: | Usual Payout |
---|---|
8 Cards or more | 250:1 |
7 Cards | 100:1 |
6 Cards | 50:1 |
5 Cards | 9:1 |
4 Cards | 2:1 |
3 Cards | 1:1 |
This side bet uses the player’s first two cards and the dealer’s up card to determine the outcome.
Crazy 7 is paid when a seven appears in the three cards. The more sevens the higher the payout. The minimum payout is 5:1 for just one seven, while three suited sevens will pay 2000:1
The RTP for this side bet is 94.26%
Hand | Usual Payout | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Three-suited-sevens | 2000:1 | Three sevens of the same suit. |
Three-unsuited-sevens | 500:1 | Three sevens from any suit. |
Pair of Suited Sevens | 150:1 | Two sevens of the same suit. |
Pair of unsuited Sevens | 25:1 | Two sevens from different suits. |
One Seven | 5:1 | One Seven in your hand. |
If you are a percentage player, looking for the best returns on Blackjack, then you should not play the Side Bets.
The RTP for the main hand is 99.28%, whereas the best you’re going to get on a side bet is 96.30%.
Only play the side bets if you want some fun and can afford to lose your bankroll. The chances of getting the side bets are slim.
On the flip side, when they come in they do pay better than the main hand , which pays 2:1.
Side Bet | House Edge | Top Payout |
---|---|---|
Crazy 7 | 5.74% | 2000:1 |
Bust Bonus | 6.18% | 250:1 |
21+3 | 3.70% | 100:1 |
Perfect Pairs | 4.10% | 25:1 |
To maximise your chances of winning at ONE Blackjack you should use a basic blackjack strategy. This is a well-known mathematically sound way of playing blackjack. It describes the action you should take depending on the value and make-up of the cards you have in your hand and also what the dealer’s up-card is showing.
If the dealer is showing a six, we know that he most likely have to take another card (unless he has a hidden Ace). If he does take a card we hope he’ll bust.
So when a six is showing we want to play our hand conservatively, by not putting ourselves in a position to bust.
When the dealer’s up-card is a seven or above, we should play until we get seventeen or above. We should avoid doubling.
Splitting Pairs if you get them is a tricky one to negotiate – if you have a pair of eights you should always split.
For specific details on the actions to take, please refer to the Basic Blackjack Strategy Guide and Table.
ONE Blackjack has a very good return to player of 99.28%, so is just as good to play as regular seven-seat blackjack.
It’s a faster game than regular blackjack, as there is only one hand being dealt.
There is also the option of playing four side bets, whereas the regular game has just two.
This game lends itself more to players that don’t want to feel part of a community, that only want to see one set of cards, and like to play a quick game.
There are other Blackjack variations that look similar in style. Infinite Blackjack by Evolution is the leading game in this category, while ALL Bets Blackjack from Playtech is another alternative, providing a very similar playing experience.
The card receptacle in the middle of the table is borrowed straight from Playtech’s Quantum Blackjack. This is used so the dealer can manually retrieve the used cards, rather than having them automatically cleared from the table using a bit of clever tech, like in Infinite and ALLBets Blackjack.
ONE Blackjack is a live dealer, multi-player, single-handed game of Blackjack, which an unlimited number of players can play at the same time. It has four side bets and is played with eight decks to Vegas Rules. It’s been created by Pragmatic Play to supplement their other Live Dealer Blackjack Games.
ONE Blackjack is played exactly the same as regular Blackjack. The aim is to beat the dealer’s hand value without going over a hand total of twenty-one. Options, once cards are dealt, are to Stand, Hit, Double or Split. Four optional side bets of 21+3, Perfect Pairs, Bust Bonus, and Crazy 7’s can also be played.
The RTP for the main hand is 99.28%, which compares with Pragmatic Play’s Seven Seat Blackjack of 99.28%.
